STAT Health Tech: Reporting on healthcare AI adoption, digital health companies, clinical applications, and regulatory developments.

Healthcare is becoming an increasingly attractive market for technology companies, and AI is a major part of that investment. STAT’s Health Tech reporting follows developments in digital health, including AI-powered clinical tools, technology startups, regulatory decisions, and the business interests influencing how these products are developed and adopted.

Understanding the commercial side of healthcare AI is important. Hospitals and healthcare systems are deciding whether to purchase and implement technologies with limited evidence of clinical benefit. Who is evaluating these products, and what standards are being used? Financial incentives, regulatory oversight, and clinical priorities do not always align. STAT Health Tech provides useful reporting on these issues and helps inform the broader HUMAI conversation about how healthcare technologies should be evaluated, funded, and introduced into patient care.

Continuing the Conversation

Beyond HUMAI is intended to be an evolving collection of resources that complement our faculty's research, educational initiatives, and discussions about evidence-based medicine.

By sharing thoughtful perspectives from across the field, we hope to encourage informed debate, support critical appraisal, and contribute to a more responsible approach to AI in healthcare.

Our goal is not simply to follow the conversation about AI in medicine, but to help advance it.
